Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming boxing match.
Ex twice world boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the novice continues to be one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
